There needs to be badges in the Teams app, so when I am not in the module I know I have a new message. Also, while in the SMS module and a new SMS arrives, there is a badge next to the new message, but I noticed that if you are not in there and a new message comes in, there is no badge when you go to the module...so badging only seems to work when you stay in the SMS module.

Agreed - I sit in chat or activity most of the time. I never get notices (not even a ding) when I get a text to my phone. Very problematic.

I agree with John's suggestions. SMS is used with an expectation of visibilty and timly response.
